Philodendron (  not to be confused with Phellodendron - plants of the Rutaceae family-) is a genus of flowering plants in the Araceae family,  native to tropics. It is a large genus of about 200  species. Some of them are grown as houseplants. Hearthleaf  philodendron is poisonous to cats and dogs
